An X (Twitter) proxy routes your X traffic through an exit IP in the country and network you choose, so each account works with its own consistent network identity. Static residential, rotating residential and 4G/5G mobile IPs cover brand and agency account management, permitted listening and trend checks.
Sticky or static proxies suit long sessions and account consistency; rotating proxies fit high-volume crawling and distributed requests. Pick the closest product below.
IPv6 proxy packages are a cost-effective option, but the target site must support IPv6. You can check whether a site supports IPv6 with the IPv6 Checker. If you need help, contact our support team.
An X (Twitter) proxy routes your traffic to X through an exit IP you choose instead of your own network. What X sees is the IP address, its country and city, the network it belongs to (ASN) and the connection type. A proxy does not change an account’s content, behavior or device fingerprint; it only changes the network layer.
Legitimate, common use cases:
For general social media scenarios see the social media use case page. Similar multi-account setups are covered platform by platform on the Instagram proxy and Reddit proxy pages.
The right type depends on how long the job needs the same identity. Jobs where you are logged in to an account need a static or long sticky exit. Logged-out reading of public data runs more evenly on a rotating exit.
| Job | Proxy type | Session mode | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day-to-day brand/agency account management | Static Residential IPv4 | Static, 1 IP per account | Same ISP IP, same ASN and same city for the whole package period; login history stays consistent |
| Managing an account from the phone app | Mobile 4G/5G Proxy (Real SIM) | Static, rotation on demand | Carrier IP with the same network profile as mobile app traffic |
| Regional ad and content preview | Rotating Mobile IPv4 | Sticky (up to 60 minutes) | Country-selectable 4G/5G IPs, suited to testing the mobile view |
| Listening to public posts (within permitted scope) | Rotating Residential IPv4 | Rotating or short sticky | A 100M+ IP pool spreads load; per-IP rate limits are reached later |
| Trend and regional timeline checks | Rotating Residential IPv4 | Sticky (10–30 min) | Country, city and, in some locations, ASN targeting; location stays fixed during the check |
| Community and customer support team logins | Static Residential IPv4 | Static | The team connects from the same exit every day; fewer new-location alerts |

Türkiye exits of the Static Residential IPv4 packages come from the Türk Telekom and Vodafone networks. Türkiye packages support HTTP and SOCKS5; UDP is not available in Türkiye, so do not plan an application that needs UDP on a Türkiye IP. The real-SIM mobile proxy works over HTTP only, and stock of its Türkiye package can change; check the product page for the current status.
The basic rule: one account, one IP, one browser profile. If you manage ten brand accounts, use ten separate static IPs and ten separate profiles. Several accounts logging in from the same IP all the time strengthens the signal on X’s side that these accounts are linked. A restriction applied to one account can then lead to a review of the others through that link.
Mobile IPs are a little different. Carriers use CGNAT, so in real life a single mobile IP is shared by many users. This makes mobile IPs naturally more tolerant; still, stacking ten accounts on one mobile IP is risky if the accounts behave alike. If you prefer a mobile exit, use a separate port or a separate sticky session per account.
X compares over time which IP, device and location an account logs in from. An account that arrives from a different country at every login asks for extra verification even with the correct password. Therefore:
If the IP is in Türkiye, the browser profile’s time zone should be Europe/Istanbul and the language header tr-TR. A browser reporting Istanbul time and Turkish while the IP is in Germany creates an obvious mismatch between network and device. WebRTC and DNS queries leaving outside the proxy also expose your real IP through a second channel; for settings see the DNS leak and WebRTC guide. Check an IP’s country, city and ASN with the IP lookup tool before using it.
A newly created brand account that follows, likes and posts at high volume from day one runs into X’s spam signals. A proxy does not remove this risk; the behavior layer belongs to the account itself. A reasonable start looks like this:
X publishes upper limits in its Help Center for daily posts, direct messages and follows. These limits are a technical ceiling, not a target. Accounts can be restricted well below that ceiling for activity that repeats in a short time, contains the same text or looks coordinated.
The primary route for collecting public posts systematically is the X API. Access is offered in paid tiers, and each tier has different read limits. API responses carry the x-rate-limit-limit, x-rate-limit-remaining and x-rate-limit-reset headers; when the limit is exceeded, the API returns 429 Too Many Requests. Reading these headers and scheduling requests around the reset time is more efficient than blind retries.
You usually do not need a proxy for the API. Limits are tied to the app and credentials, not the IP; using the same token from different IPs does not raise the limit.
Collecting data from the web interface is a separate matter. The X Terms of Service prohibit crawling or scraping the service without prior written consent. X also restricts what logged-out visitors can see, and there have been periods when it applied viewing limits to logged-in accounts. Proxy-based collection therefore makes sense only when you have a permitted data agreement, are processing data from your own accounts, or are testing a workflow that complies with an enterprise social listening provider’s rules.
In a permitted collection setup:
429, wait; switching IPs to get past the limit does not fix the problem. For what the codes mean, see the proxy error codes guide.Trends in X’s Explore section vary by location. In account settings you can pick the trend location manually or turn on the option to show content from your current location. With the second option, the location estimate relies heavily on the connection’s IP. A team in Izmir may therefore not see Berlin trends correctly with its own IP.
Workflow for a regional check:
The proxy geo-targeting guide explains in detail how country, city and ASN targeting works. If differences in the mobile view matter, run the same check with Rotating Mobile IPv4.
ip:port:user:pass and URL formats with the proxy format converter. The real-SIM mobile proxy supports HTTP only, so select HTTP as the protocol.curl -x "http://USER:[email protected]:8989" https://api.ipify.org
If you get an authentication or connection error (407, timeout), follow the diagnostic order in the proxy error codes guide.
X’s platform manipulation and spam policy prohibits artificially amplifying or suppressing information. Its scope includes fake engagement (bought or sold followers, likes, reposts), building networks of linked accounts to spread the same content, and coordinated bulk posting. X accepts multiple accounts that serve different purposes (for example a personal and a brand account); what is prohibited is using these accounts together to inflate the same engagement. With or without a proxy, such behavior can lead to account suspension.
What a proxy can and cannot do:
WeProxy services are provided under the acceptable use policy. Generating fake engagement, spreading spam or accessing other people’s accounts without authorization are also prohibited under that policy.
