Social Media Proxies

LinkedIn Proxy

A LinkedIn proxy is a fixed network identity that routes a LinkedIn account’s traffic from the same country and the same IP address every day. For sales and recruiting teams, it gives each seat its own static residential or ISP IP so Sales Navigator sessions stay consistent regardless of the network the rep is on.

Which proxy when?

Sticky or static proxies suit long sessions and account consistency; rotating proxies fit high-volume crawling and distributed requests. Pick the closest product below.

IPv6 proxy packages are a cost-effective option, but the target site must support IPv6. You can check whether a site supports IPv6 with the IPv6 Checker. If you need help, contact our support team.

What is a LinkedIn proxy used for?

The legitimate side of using a proxy on LinkedIn is not about multiplying accounts. It is about keeping the network layer of existing accounts orderly. In B2B sales and recruiting teams, every rep works from their own personal account. The problem is that these accounts move between a home connection, the office network, hotel Wi-Fi and a phone line during the day. LinkedIn treats each new location and device combination as a separate sign-in and sometimes asks for a verification code.

Typical use cases:

  • Recruiting teams: remote recruiters’ accounts connect from the team’s country and from the same IP every day.
  • Sales development (SDR/BDR) teams: a consistent location and network identity for every Sales Navigator seat.
  • Travelling employees: the account keeps its usual country exit even at a trade show abroad.
  • Mobile app and integration testing: apps with “Sign in with LinkedIn” or share integrations are tested over a real carrier network.
  • Regional view checks: checking how public company pages and job listing pages look from different countries.

A note for agencies: to manage a client’s company page, use LinkedIn’s page admin roles instead of sharing the client’s password. Each agency employee then works from their own account and their own static IP. For the general approach on social platforms, see the social media use case page.

Which proxy type should you choose for LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is a platform where sessions stay open for a long time and are expected to belong to the same person. The main rule is therefore simple: static IP for logged-in accounts, sticky sessions for short checks that need no login. Rotating mode, which changes the IP on every request, does not fit a logged-in LinkedIn session.

Static residential vs ISP proxy

Both products are static and keep the same IP for up to 30 days. Static Residential IPv4 is offered in several countries including Türkiye; the Türkiye packages come from Türk Telekom and Vodafone networks, support HTTP and SOCKS5, and have no UDP support in Türkiye. Traffic per IP is unlimited and delivery is instant after payment. The product also lists p0f OS spoofing: it aims to keep the operating system signature visible at the TCP/IP layer consistent with the device you use. Static ISP IPv4 is currently offered only in the US. For the details of ISP vs datacenter, read ISP proxy vs datacenter proxy.

When does a mobile proxy make sense?

For a team that mostly uses LinkedIn on the phone, a mobile IP is closer to the user’s real connection. However, mobile carriers use CGNAT; the same IP can belong to many users at once and changes over time. For a seat using Sales Navigator on a desktop, static residential is more predictable. For a comparison, read mobile vs residential proxy.

Why does every LinkedIn account need its own static IP?

LinkedIn accounts are personal. The User Agreement requires an account to belong to one real person and not to be shared with anyone else. At team scale the correct setup is therefore “one person, one account, one IP”.

In practice this means:

  1. One seat = one static IP. A five-person SDR team gets five separate static IPs. Opening two accounts from the same IP can lead LinkedIn to associate them.
  2. One account = one browser profile. Each account opens in a separate profile with its own cookies, local storage and proxy setting. Switching accounts in the same profile makes the IP separation meaningless.
  3. The IP stays, the account does not move. Once an IP is assigned to an account, do not move that account to another IP or give the IP to another account. Keep the same IP when you renew the package.
  4. Geographic consistency. The IP country, the location in the account profile, the browser language and the OS time zone should match. A German IP for a recruiter living in Istanbul does not add consistency; it creates a new signal.

Another benefit of a static IP is fewer “unrecognized sign-in” checks. When the account opens from the same network every day, the platform gradually treats that network as a familiar location. For the difference between sticky and static sessions, see the sticky vs rotating proxy guide.

How do you use Sales Navigator from a consistent location?

Sales Navigator is a paid sales tool tied to a LinkedIn account. Search filters, saved lead lists and InMail credits are tied to the account, so session continuity matters. The most common problem in teams is a rep moving between networks with a laptop and the session being re-verified each time.

Recommended setup:

  • Open Sales Navigator only in the browser profile assigned to that account; keep the profile’s proxy setting permanent.
  • Choose an exit in the same country as the market the account belongs to. Türkiye static residential for a team working in Türkiye; US ISP proxy for a rep living in the US.
  • Do not change the rep’s location to target a market. Sales Navigator’s geography filters already filter leads by region; the IP does not need to be in the target market.
  • If you use SOCKS5, leave hostname resolution to the proxy and check the WebRTC setting. Details: DNS leak and WebRTC guide.

As a rule, the IP should represent the country where the person actually is. The proxy is used here not to fake a location, but to give one fixed exit point across changing networks.

What should you know about LinkedIn connection request limits and automation tools?

LinkedIn applies a weekly limit on connection requests (invitations), and there are usage limits for profile views, search and messaging as well. Exact numbers vary by account, account history and subscription type, and LinkedIn can change them. A proxy does not change these limits. The limit is tied to the account, not to the IP.

The automation side is clearer. The LinkedIn User Agreement prohibits using bots or other automated methods to access the service, add connections, send messages and scrape data. Browser extensions and cloud-based “LinkedIn automation” tools fall into this scope and can lead to account restrictions. WeProxy does not assess whether a given tool complies with LinkedIn’s rules.

Practices that keep accounts healthy:

  • Few, personalized invitations: bulk invitations with a low acceptance rate cause problems faster than the limits do. Withdraw pending invitations that stay unanswered for a long time.
  • Slow start on new accounts: with a newly created or long-unused account, complete the profile in the first weeks and grow the network slowly.
  • Human pace: actions spread through the day at reasonable intervals.
  • One session: do not open the same account from two devices and two different IPs at the same time.

When an account is restricted, changing the IP is not the fix. Complete LinkedIn’s identity verification steps and correct the usage pattern.

This question has two separate layers: platform rules and personal data protection. On the platform side, the LinkedIn User Agreement prohibits automated scraping and unauthorized copying of profile data. A page being public does not mean it falls outside the agreement.

On the personal data side, profile information such as name, title, employer and photo relates directly to a person. In Türkiye the KVKK, and in the European Union the GDPR, impose obligations for collecting and processing such data, including a legal basis, transparency notices, purpose limitation and retention periods. Data being “public” does not remove these obligations.

For sales and recruiting teams, the safe path is to use LinkedIn’s own tools (Sales Navigator, LinkedIn Recruiter) and official integrations. If you plan bulk collection of profile data, review it with your legal counsel before you start. This page is not legal advice.

How do you set up a LinkedIn proxy?

The steps below are for one seat; repeat them for each seat in the team.

  1. Choose the product. For daily desktop use, Static Residential IPv4 in the country the account belongs to; for the US market, Static ISP IPv4; for mobile app tests, Mobile 4G/5G Proxy. Plan one IP per account.
  2. Buy in the panel. Select the location and the number of IPs. Once the order is active, host, port, username and password appear in the customer panel. You can also use IP whitelisting instead of username/password; both methods work on HTTP and SOCKS5.
  3. Test the connection. Before using the browser, check the credentials with the Proxy Checker. If you get a 407 or a timeout, see the proxy error codes guide.
  4. Enter it in the browser profile. In the profile dedicated to the account, enter the proxy type (HTTP or SOCKS5), host, port, username and password. Mobile 4G/5G Proxy supports HTTP only.
  5. Verify the exit. In the same profile, open https://weproxy.io/tools/my-ip. Check that the IP, country and carrier (ASN) are the values you expect, and that the browser language and time zone match that country.
  6. Make the first sign-in. Sign in to LinkedIn normally. If a verification code is requested, complete it by email or phone. Avoid heavy activity in the first days.
  7. Lock the setting. Do not change this profile’s proxy setting; do not share the IP with another account. Keep the same IP when renewing the package.

For country, city and ASN concepts when choosing a location, the proxy geo-targeting guide helps.

What are the rules and limits of using a LinkedIn proxy?

A proxy changes only the network layer. Account history, invitation acceptance rate, message content, reports and pace of use are other signals LinkedIn evaluates, and a proxy does not touch them. Therefore no proxy guarantees that an account will not be restricted.

Points to keep in mind:

  • The LinkedIn User Agreement prohibits fake accounts, account sharing, automated actions with bots and scraping. A proxy does not take you outside these rules.
  • Sending bulk, non-personalized invitations or messages can be treated as spam.
  • If you process profile data, KVKK and GDPR obligations are your responsibility.
  • WeProxy services may be used within the acceptable use policy. Spam, fake account creation and platform abuse violate this policy.
