Guide

Product guide

Learn how to use rotating proxy connections that leverage the large IPv6 address space on IPv6-capable targets.

What is rotating IPv6 proxy?

Rotating IPv6 proxy routes internet traffic through IPv6 addresses that can change at set intervals. IPv6's large address space offers a scalable option for technical work that needs many exit addresses.

The key requirement is that the target system supports IPv6. If a site has no IPv6 in its DNS records and connection infrastructure, access with an IPv6-only proxy may not be possible. Before you start, use the IPv6 support checker.

Which projects can it be used for?

It can be preferred for software testing on IPv6-compatible services, open data collection, network research, and high-volume automation. If the session must stay on the same IP continuously, sticky IPv6 is a better fit; if you need a permanent address, use static IPv6 products.

Older applications written for IPv4 may not parse IPv6 addresses or proxy formats correctly. Confirm that your client supports IPv6 proxies, and check whether square brackets are required when the address is used in a URL.

Before you start

First test the exit IP and DNS resolution with a single connection. Then raise concurrent request counts gradually. Set the IP change interval to the real workflow on the target, and use limited retries on failed requests.

Frequently asked questions

Does an IPv6 proxy work on every site?

No. The target must accept IPv6 connections.

Is IPv6 automatically faster than IPv4?

No. Speed depends on route, server location, target infrastructure, and network load. Do not decide without measuring on your project.
