Social Media Proxies

Facebook Proxy

A Facebook proxy is an intermediary server that sets which country, carrier and IP address your Facebook and Meta ads traffic leaves from. Agencies use it to manage accounts from the same static IP every day, and marketing teams use it to verify ads and landing pages from the target country.

Which proxy when?

Sticky or static proxies suit long sessions and account consistency; rotating proxies fit high-volume crawling and distributed requests. Pick the closest product below.

IPv6 proxy packages are a cost-effective option, but the target site must support IPv6. You can check whether a site supports IPv6 with the IPv6 Checker. If you need help, contact our support team.

What is a Facebook proxy used for?

A Facebook proxy lets you control which country, which carrier and which IP address your Facebook traffic leaves from. The platform evaluates accounts, ads and content largely by location, so this control is a daily need for teams that manage several brands or markets.

Legitimate use cases:

  • Agencies and social media teams: team members who manage client Pages and ad accounts log in from the same, consistent network location every day.
  • Ad verification: checking how Meta ads, landing pages and redirects look to a user in the target country.
  • Regional content and Marketplace checks: testing whether Page country restrictions, language versions and city-based listings work as intended.
  • App and QA testing: reproducing the experience of a user on a mobile network (placements, load times, country-specific elements).
  • Account security separation: keeping workflows for different clients apart, and avoiding needless security checks when a team member travels or the office IP changes.

A proxy changes only the network layer. Account history, device data, behavior and content quality are separate signals in Meta's evaluation; a proxy does not change them.

How should agencies using Business Manager work with proxies?

Meta gives agencies access to client assets through the business portfolio in Meta Business Suite (formerly Business Manager). The correct method is not sharing the client's password: the client adds the agency's business portfolio as a partner on its Page and ad account. Each team member then works with their own personal account and their own role, and access can be revoked in one click.

In this setup a proxy grants no access; Meta's role system does. The proxy's job is to make team members' sessions predictable:

  • Assign each team member one static IP for the market they work on, and have that person connect from the same IP every day.
  • For a team managing the Türkiye market, the Türkiye packages of Static Residential IPv4 Proxy provide IPs from the Türk Telekom and Vodafone networks; the IP stays fixed for the whole period.
  • If you need an ISP-sourced static IP for the US market, Static ISP IPv4 Proxy is offered in the US location only.
  • Do not share one IP across different people's personal accounts. One IP, one person, one browser profile keeps auditing simple.

For bulk Page and ad operations, Meta's official Graph API and Marketing API are the better fit. API calls are authenticated with an access token; no residential or mobile IP is needed there.

Why does Facebook trigger a security checkpoint when the IP changes?

At every login Facebook compares the IP address, the IP's country and network owner (ASN), the device and the browser with previous sessions. When it sees an unrecognized location or device, it may notify the account owner and ask for a two-factor code, identity confirmation or a security checkpoint. This mechanism exists to protect compromised accounts.

This is why frequent IP changes cause problems:

  • Different countries in a short time: a login from Istanbul at 10:00 and from Frankfurt at 10:05 is a movement the same person cannot physically make.
  • Switching between network types: an account that keeps jumping between a home ISP, a datacenter and a mobile carrier does not match one user's normal pattern.
  • A new IP on every request: in rotating mode each page load can leave from a different IP, so the IP changes inside an open session. This can drop the session or trigger re-verification.

The rule is simple: use a sticky or static session for every account you log into. Rotating mode makes sense for jobs without login (landing page checks, public Page views). For details on the difference, see the sticky vs rotating proxy guide.

How do you verify Meta ads by country?

The goal of ad verification is to see what a campaign shows to a user in the target country. Two layers need to be separated here.

Ad delivery depends on the account

Meta serves ads based on the location, age and interests stored in the user's profile and account settings. Moving only the IP to Germany will not show German campaigns in the feed of an account registered in Türkiye. The official way to see in which countries an ad is running is the Meta Ad Library, which offers a country filter.

Landing pages and redirects depend on the IP

The real value of a proxy starts after the click. The page an ad points to may show a different language, currency, price or stock per country; some links redirect to different domains per country. For each target country:

  1. Take the ad's destination URL from the Ad Library or the campaign settings.
  2. Select the country in the proxy and open the page; check that language, currency and legal texts fit that country.
  3. Record the redirect chain and look for any unexpected domain.
  4. Repeat the same check with a mobile IP; mobile users may receive a different page version.

How country, city and ASN targeting works is explained in the proxy geo-targeting guide. For the general framework of this workflow, see the ad verification use case page.

How do you set the location for Marketplace and regional content checks?

Facebook Marketplace lists items by the location and radius the user selects. The IP address plays a role in the initial location guess, but in a logged-in account the location setting and profile data also decide. For Marketplace tests the IP city and the location selected in the account must therefore match; otherwise results will be inconsistent.

There are similar checks on the Page side. Facebook Pages can define country restrictions and age restrictions, and content can be hidden in certain countries. You can verify that a brand's settings work by viewing the Page without logging in, from an IP that exits in the relevant country.

Practical settings:

  • For city-level checks, choose city targeting in the residential pool and use a sticky session for the duration of the check.
  • Set the browser language (Accept-Language) and time zone to the country under test.
  • WebRTC and DNS leaks can expose your real location; for a checklist, see the DNS leak and WebRTC guide.

What should you watch for when using proxies with Facebook accounts?

One fixed IP per ad account. The person managing an ad account should connect from the same static IP every day. The payment method, billing address and the account currency should also match the same country.

One identity, one environment. Use a separate browser profile and a separate IP for each personal account. Cookies, local storage and browser fingerprint must not mix between profiles.

Geographic consistency. IP country, browser language, operating system time zone and the location stored in the account should tell the same story. An Istanbul IP with a Los Angeles time zone is an inconsistent signal.

Action rate. Facebook limits actions such as friend requests, messages, group posts and comments. These limits apply to the account and its behavior, not the IP; more IPs do not give more actions. Many repetitive actions in a short time can lead to restrictions regardless of the IP.

Gradual use of new accounts. Meta applies spending limits to newly created ad accounts, and the limits grow with account history. In a new business portfolio, scale the budget gradually, complete business verification, and do not open the account from different locations in the first days.

Keep two-factor authentication on. Using a static IP does not remove the need for 2FA. For agency accounts, 2FA is a basic security step that Meta also recommends.

How to set up a Facebook proxy step by step

  1. Choose the product. For account management with login: Static Residential IPv4 (Türk Telekom or Vodafone for Türkiye) or Static ISP IPv4 for the US; for verification and testing: Rotating Mobile IPv4 or Rotating Residential IPv4.
  2. Buy in the panel. Once the package is active, the connection details (host, port, username, password) appear in the customer panel. Authentication works with username/password or IP whitelist; both work over HTTP and SOCKS5. Mobile 4G/5G (Real SIM) supports HTTP only.
  3. Enter the details in your tool. Enter host, port, username and password in your browser profile manager, browser extension or automation tool. If the format differs, convert between ip:port:user:pass and URL format with the proxy format converter.
  4. Verify the exit IP. In the same profile, open the My IP tool and check that country, city and carrier are what you expect. For detailed ASN data, use the IP lookup tool.
  5. Run the first test. Open Facebook without logging in first and confirm the page loads in the right language. Then log in; if a confirmation is requested on the first login, complete it as the account owner and keep using the same IP in later sessions.

If you see 407 or timeouts while connecting, the causes are listed in the proxy error codes guide.

Facebook rules and the limits of a proxy

Meta's Terms of Service require users to use their real name and accurate information, not to create accounts for someone else without permission, and not to create a new account after Meta has disabled theirs. The Community Standards prohibit fake accounts, inauthentic behavior and creating new accounts or assets to evade enforcement; the advertising policies also treat attempts to circumvent review systems as a violation. Collecting data with automated means without permission is also against the terms. These rules apply regardless of which IP an action comes from.

What a proxy cannot do:

  • It does not guarantee that account restrictions or bans will be avoided. Evaluation relies on the sum of account, device, behavior and content signals.
  • It does not restore a disabled account or ad account.
  • It does not change ad delivery or targeting; those depend on account settings.

Use of WeProxy services is subject to the acceptable use policy. For similar workflows on other social platforms, see the Instagram proxy and LinkedIn proxy pages, and for the general framework the social media use case page.
