Silkroad Online Proxy

A Silkroad Online proxy connects your game client from a separate, fixed IP; each character gets its own IP and you stay within the server’s per-IP limit.

WeProxy Silkroad packages come with a dedicated static IP per port, a Türkiye location and the SOCKS protocol. For stall characters, parties and guild setups, bind each client to its own IP with Proxifier; the IP stays the same for the period, so sessions do not drop because of IP changes.

Benefits

Why WeProxy for Silkroad Online?

Dedicated IP per port

Each port carries its own static IP. Bind your characters to separate IPs; the pairing stays the same for the period.

SOCKS for Proxifier

Silkroad packages use the SOCKS protocol, so you route sro_client.exe traffic directly with a Proxifier rule.

Türkiye location

For players in Türkiye, the route stays inside the country. The product specs list a ping target under 40 ms.

What is a Silkroad Online proxy used for?

A Silkroad Online proxy routes the connection your game client opens to the server through a separate, fixed IP address instead of your home connection. The server sees the character connecting from that address. A proxy only changes the network layer; it does not change how the character behaves in game, the client files, or the account details.

The main reason Silkroad players use proxies is the per-IP connection limit. Official servers (TRSRO, iSRO) and private vSRO servers usually limit how many clients can connect from one IP. A player who wants to open several characters from the same home runs into that limit.

In practice, a Silkroad proxy is used for:

  • Multi-client play. Opening a second and third character for a party, academy or caravan from separate IPs, within the limit the server allows.
  • Stall (merchant) characters. Keeping a long-running stall character on its own fixed IP, separate from the main character.
  • Guilds and teams. Preventing players who share one office or internet café connection from using up each other’s IP limit.
  • Connection stability. Giving the game an exit address that stays the same for the whole period, so the session does not drop when your home IP changes.

The same logic applies to other MMORPGs; see the Metin2 proxy and Knight Online proxy pages. The general overview is on the gaming proxy use case page.

Which proxy type is right for Silkroad?

The Silkroad client keeps a long-lived connection open to the server. If the IP changes in the middle of that connection, the character disconnects (DC). So the first rule is: use a static IP for game sessions, not a rotating one.

JobProxy typeWhy
Main character and multi-clientGaming Proxy (Silkroad package, SOCKS)Dedicated static IP per port, Türkiye location, monthly per-IP billing
Long-running stall characterGaming Proxy, one port per characterIP stays the same for the period, session does not drop
Guild/team members sharing one networkGaming Proxy, 1 IP per playerEach player uses their own IP limit
A different exit country for servers outside TürkiyeStatic Residential IPv4Locations such as the US, Germany, France, the Netherlands; HTTP and SOCKS5
Game sessionsRotating proxyNot suitable; an IP change breaks the connection

Gaming Proxy’s Silkroad packages use the SOCKS protocol. SOCKS5 carries the client’s TCP connection as is and works directly with tools such as Proxifier. An HTTP proxy is designed for web requests; for routing a game client, SOCKS5 is the better choice. The technical difference is covered in HTTP vs SOCKS5.

Why an ISP/residential profile instead of datacenter?

Datacenter IPs are registered to hosting companies’ ASNs. Some game servers and their admins look at those ranges more closely or block whole blocks. WeProxy gaming proxies run close to an ISP/residential profile; each port gets a dedicated IP, and fresh IPs reserved for Silkroad are kept separate from general pools. For the differences between IP types, read residential vs mobile vs datacenter vs ISP proxy.

How do you manage multi-client play and the IP limit in Silkroad?

The core rule: find out the server’s per-IP limit and never connect more clients to one IP than that limit. The safest setup is one client per proxy IP. That way a problem with one character does not affect other characters on the same IP.

Points to watch in practice:

  • Keep a character–IP table. Write down which character connects through which port and do not change the pairing. A character logging in from a different IP every day defeats the purpose of separate IPs.
  • Do not open the same character without the proxy. A single direct login links the character to your home IP.
  • Use a separate folder for each client. Proxifier rules match by application name or full file path. Every client started from the same sro_client.exe file falls under the same rule and exits through the same proxy. Copy the Silkroad folder into a separate directory for each client and write the rule by full path: C:\SRO1\sro_client.exe → Proxy 1, C:\SRO2\sro_client.exe → Proxy 2.
  • Use one layer for tools with their own proxy field. Some third-party client helpers have a SOCKS5 field in their settings. If you fill it in, do not add a Proxifier rule for the same process as well; double routing causes connection errors.
  • The limit is set by the server, not by us. WeProxy packages have no concurrent session limit; the game server’s rules set the limit.

How many proxy IPs do you need for Silkroad?

The number of IPs depends on how many clients you keep open at the same time and on the server’s per-IP limit. The formula is simple: divide the number of simultaneous clients by the number of clients allowed per IP and round up. To stay well clear of a risky limit, most players give each client its own IP.

SetupClients open at onceRecommended IPs
Main character + stall character22 (1 if the main character uses your home connection)
Main character + 2 support characters (party)33
Caravan or academy setup4–81 per client
5-player guild team on the same network51 per player

A few practical notes:

  • Decide up front whether the main character also moves to its own IP. Running the main character from home and the alts through proxies is a common setup. What matters is that each character always connects the same way.
  • Plan a spare IP. In a larger setup, keeping one port free for testing or a temporary character lets you experiment without breaking the IP pairing of active characters.
  • Think in months. Gaming Proxy is billed monthly per IP. When your character count changes, you can raise or lower the number of IPs for the next period.
  • Pick the location by server version. For servers aimed at players in Türkiye, such as TRSRO, a Türkiye-located Gaming Proxy fits. For iSRO or private vSRO servers hosted abroad, first find out where the server is; the latency section below explains this choice.

How does a proxy affect ping in Silkroad?

With a proxy, packets go to the proxy server first and from there to the game server. Total latency is roughly the sum of two parts: you to the proxy, and the proxy to the game server. So the proxy location should be close both to the game server and to you.

  • Servers aimed at players in Türkiye. Gaming Proxy is located in Türkiye. For a player in Türkiye, the route stays inside the country. The product specs list ping as a “<40ms target”; it is a target, not a guarantee. The real value depends on your connection and where the server is hosted.
  • Servers hosted in Europe or other regions. A Türkiye exit adds an extra hop to the route. In that case, a static IP in a country close to the server makes sense; the Static Residential IPv4 product offers many countries.
  • Measuring. Before buying, note your own connection’s ping to the server, then repeat the same measurement through the proxy. Lag, delayed skills and late potion use usually come from high latency or packet loss.

Türkiye packages have no UDP. The Silkroad client’s server connection is carried as TCP over SOCKS5; the login test after setup confirms this.

How do you set up a Silkroad Online proxy?

The Silkroad client has no built-in proxy setting. A tool such as Proxifier is used to route its traffic. Step-by-step instructions with screenshots are in the Silkroad Proxifier guide.

  1. Choose the product. Open the Silkroad Online package on the Gaming Proxy page and plan as many IPs as clients you will run at once.
  2. Get the details from the panel. After payment, host, port, username and password appear in the customer panel. Instead of username/password, you can also authorize with an IP whitelist.
  3. Add the SOCKS5 server to Proxifier. Under Profile → Proxy Servers → Add, enter the host and port, choose SOCKS Version 5 as the protocol, enable authentication and enter the username and password. Test the connection with Check.
  4. Create a rule for the game. Under Profile → Proxification Rules, add a new rule, select sro_client.exe as the application (its full path for multi-client) and assign the proxy you added as the action. If you want the launcher to use the same exit, add it to the rule too.
  5. Verify the exit. With Proxifier running, set the same proxy in a browser and check on the My IP tool that the IP matches the panel and shows Türkiye.
  6. Run a login test. Log in with one character first, play for a few minutes and check in the Proxifier connections window that the sro_client.exe line goes through the proxy. Then add the second client.

If the connection does not open, check in this order: a 407 or authentication error points to a wrong username/password; a timeout points to a wrong port or a firewall. You can test port reachability with the port checker; other codes are explained in the proxy error codes guide.

Which rules apply when using a Silkroad proxy?

Rules differ by server. Official servers run by the publisher usually forbid bots and automation and may limit multi-client play. Private servers set their own rules; some state the number of clients per IP explicitly, some allow third-party tools. Read the rules of the server you play on and stay within them. A proxy only changes the network layer; behaviour-based detection, client checks and game admins’ decisions are independent of the IP.

What a proxy cannot do:

  • It does not guarantee protection from bans or account closures.
  • It does not affect or bypass anti-cheat systems.
  • It does not restore an account closed for rule violations.

What WeProxy services may be used for is set out in the acceptable use policy.
