A residential proxy forwards your requests to the target site through IP addresses that internet service providers (ISPs) assign to home users. The target sees the connection as coming from an ordinary household line, not from a hosting company. That is why residential proxies are used when you need to see what a site shows a real user: local search results, regional prices, ad placements and account-based automation.

The "residential" label alone is not enough to pick a product. WeProxy offers four variants in this category, and they differ along two axes: how long the IP stays the same (rotating, sticky, static) and how it is billed (per GB or per IP per month). This page puts the variants side by side, explains which one fits which job and routes you to the right product page.

Current packages are listed in the package table on this page. All packages come with unlimited threads and concurrent sessions; authentication works with username/password or IP whitelist over both HTTP and SOCKS5.

How does a residential proxy work, and where do the IPs come from?

When a website looks at the IP address of an incoming connection, it can also see which network (ASN) the address belongs to. Datacenter IPs come from hosting and cloud provider blocks; residential IPs come from the blocks of providers that assign addresses to home and small-business subscribers. Some sites apply stricter rules to traffic from hosting ASNs. A residential proxy sends your request from an address in the second group, so it creates a different profile at the target.

With rotating residential products you connect to a single gateway address; the gateway forwards each request through a residential IP from the pool. With static residential and ISP products you use a fixed address assigned to you, and that address does not change during the package period.

Addresses in WeProxy's residential pool are sourced through a consent-based SDK partner program. Participants join knowingly, are paid for taking part and can leave at any time. A transparent IP source is the first thing to ask about when choosing a residential proxy, both for you and for the sites you access.

Which residential proxy options does WeProxy offer?

The category consists of two rotating and two static products. Rotating products work from a large pool and are billed per GB; static products give you assigned addresses billed per IP per month.

Rotating Residential IPv4 offers city and ZIP targeting; Premium Rotating Residential offers country and city targeting. Both rotating products list 15 featured countries and 180+ locations in total. Static Residential IPv4 is available in Türkiye, the US, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Canada, the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Italy; the Static ISP IPv4 Proxy is currently offered in the US. See the locations page for current coverage.

Traffic bought per GB has no expiry: it stays in your balance until used and does not reset monthly. Static Residential IPv4 includes unlimited traffic on every IP and is delivered instantly after payment. For jobs that need continuous high traffic without a GB cap, there are also monthly port packages of Unlimited Rotating Residential IPv4.

Rotating or static residential proxies?

The decision depends on whether your job carries state. If every request is independent, such as fetching product pages or checking search results, a rotating proxy spreads requests across different addresses in the pool and does not load a single IP. If requests depend on each other, such as logging in, adding items to a cart or managing a dashboard, the IP must not change during the process.

Rotating residential products offer sticky sessions for this. By adding a session ID to your username you can keep the same exit IP for up to 24 hours in the residential pool. When you change the session ID or the time runs out, you get a new IP. For long jobs it is good practice to add logic that can re-establish the session when the IP changes.

Static residential, by contrast, exits from an address assigned to you rather than from the pool. For jobs that need the same IP for days, for systems that keep an IP allowlist on the other side and for flows that require a fixed identity per account, a static product produces fewer surprises.

When should you choose Premium Rotating Residential?

Premium Rotating Residential uses the same session model (sticky and rotating) and the same billing (per GB) as standard rotating residential. The difference is the pool: the product runs on a residential IP pool set aside at the premium tier. If your success rate on a target does not reach the level you expect with the standard pool, trying the premium pool without changing your integration is a sensible next step.

Make the choice by measurement, not by guesswork. Send an equal number of requests to the same target from both pools, at the same request rate and with the same headers, and compare success rate, CAPTCHA rate and average response time. The 1 GB free trial for Premium Rotating Residential lets you run this comparison without paying.

What is the difference between static residential and ISP proxies?

Both products give you IPv4 addresses that are registered to a service provider, assigned to you and unchanged for up to 30 days. The difference lies in the feature set and the locations.

Static Residential IPv4 has a wider location list and extra technical features: UDP over SOCKS5 (in locations outside Türkiye), p0f OS spoofing and unlimited traffic per IP. In the Türkiye location the addresses come from the Türk Telekom and Vodafone networks; HTTP and SOCKS5 are supported there, UDP is not. For games, VoIP or apps that need UDP, details are on the UDP proxies page.

The Static ISP IPv4 Proxy provides ISP-routed static addresses and currently runs in the US location. It is designed for long US-targeted account sessions and for scraping or automation that needs a fixed identity. The difference between ISP and static datacenter proxies is covered in ISP proxy vs datacenter proxy.

Residential or datacenter proxies?

Datacenter proxies offer low latency and a lower cost per GB; they are efficient for public data collection, price monitoring and API testing. Residential proxies stand out when a site applies different rules to hosting traffic, when you need a local user view and for account-based work.

A practical approach: start with datacenter, and switch to residential if your success rate drops because the target restricts datacenter ASNs. The reverse also applies; testing whether a target that works well with residential also works with datacenter can lower your costs. All datacenter options are on the datacenter proxies page, and a detailed comparison of the two types is in residential vs datacenter. For jobs that need mobile carrier IPs, see mobile proxies.

No IP type guarantees access to a target site. Request rate, header consistency, cookies and account history matter at least as much as the IP type.

How do you set up and test a residential proxy?

Once your order is active, the connection details appear in the customer panel. Rotating residential products work through the gateway gw.weproxy.com.tr:8989. The command below sends a request through the proxy and prints the IP address the target sees:

# Show the exit IP through an HTTP proxy
curl -x "http://USER:[email protected]:8989" https://api.ipify.org

Replace USER and PASSWORD with the details from your panel. For static products the panel gives you the IP, port and credentials separately; use that address instead of the gateway in the same command. If you prefer not to send credentials, add your server's IP to the whitelist in the panel. Because proxies are delivered in standard HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 format, they work directly with tools such as Puppeteer, Selenium and Scrapy.

After setup, verify the exit:

  • Open the My IP tool in the proxied browser; your own IP must not appear.
  • Use IP lookup to check the country, city and ASN of the address. On a residential product you should see a service provider, not a hosting ASN.
  • Use the proxy checker to bulk-test availability and response time of several proxies.

If you get errors such as 407 or 502, the proxy error codes guide helps you find which layer the error comes from.

Residential proxy checklist

  1. Define the session needs of the job. Rotating for independent requests, sticky for short multi-step operations, static residential or ISP for the same IP over days.
  2. Verify the location. Check on the locations page that the country and city you need are on the product list. If you need Turkish IPs, see the Turkey proxy page.
  3. Choose the targeting depth. If country level is enough, both rotating products fit; if you need city or ZIP level, check the targeting options of Rotating Residential IPv4.
  4. Clarify the protocol. HTTP and SOCKS5 are available on all residential variants; UDP only on Static Residential IPv4 and only outside Türkiye.
  5. Match the billing model to your traffic. Per GB suits irregular or measurable traffic, per IP per month suits a small number of fixed identities, and unlimited port packages suit continuous high traffic. Compare packages on the pricing page.
  6. Measure with a small pilot. Run 50–100 requests against the real target to measure success rate and response time; compare the standard and premium pools if needed.
  7. Follow the rules. Work in line with the target site's terms, GDPR or other data protection obligations where personal data is involved, and the acceptable use policy.

Once you have decided, you can create your package on the order page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a residential proxy used for?

A residential proxy forwards your requests to the target through home IPs registered to service providers. Typical uses are checking local search results and prices, ad verification, SEO tracking, account-based automation and collecting data from sites that apply strict rules to hosting traffic. The target sees an ordinary household connection, but request rate and header consistency affect the outcome at least as much as the IP type.

What is the difference between rotating and static residential proxies?

Rotating residential spreads requests across different addresses in a large pool and is billed per GB. With a sticky session the same IP can be kept for up to 24 hours. Static residential keeps a single address assigned to you for up to 30 days and is billed per IP per month. Rotating fits many independent requests; static fits long jobs that need logins and allowlists.

Where do residential proxy IPs come from?

Addresses in WeProxy's residential pool are sourced through a consent-based SDK partner program. Participants join knowingly, are paid for taking part and can leave the program at any time. With static residential and ISP products, addresses are assigned to you from blocks registered to service providers and stay the same throughout the package period.

Can I try residential proxies for free?

Premium Rotating Residential comes with a 1 GB free trial. With that traffic you can test success rate, response time and targeting on your own target without paying. After the trial, repeat the same test with standard Rotating Residential IPv4 so you can choose the pool that fits your job based on measurements rather than assumptions.

Is there a thread or concurrent connection limit on residential proxies?

No. WeProxy packages have no limit on threads or concurrent sessions. In practice the limit is usually set by the target site: if you send many parallel requests from the same IP, you may receive a 429 response. In that case spread the load across more IPs in rotating mode, shorten the sticky session duration and respect the wait time the target specifies.

Do Turkish residential proxies support UDP?

No. In the Türkiye location of Static Residential IPv4, addresses come from the Türk Telekom and Vodafone networks, and HTTP and SOCKS5 are supported, but UDP is not. UDP over SOCKS5 is available in the same product's locations outside Türkiye. For games or VoIP that need UDP, pick a location outside Türkiye or describe your use case to the support team.
